The Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority is revitalizing Downtown Dothan through dynamic new and redeveloped property ventures, unique events, and interesting promotions.
Our Vision
The DDRA is the champion for a vibrant and economically strong Dothan Downtown. We work closely with the city of Dothan, Alabama, the Houston County Commission, the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, the Dothan Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and all stakeholders and residents throughout the community. The Authority also works directly with private investors and developers to attract and encourage new development projects in the Downtown Dothan district.
Our History
Established in 1985, the Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority (DDRA) was formed to be a catalyst for the city’s redevelopment efforts, and to streamline the processes for private developers to build and remodel in the Dothan Downtown district. The DDRA was inactive for some time, but reformed in 2007 after a Southern tour of downtowns by the City Leaders. The organization is governed by a board of directors and led by a full time executive director.

- Creating Innovative Public/Private Partnerships
- Strategically Planning Land & Building acquisitions
- Providing a Mechanism to Achieve the Downtown Master Plan
- Budget Preparation and Project Planning
- Project Management
- Public Relations and City Commission Coordination
- Downtown Planning and Coordination
- Grant Administration and Compliance
- Manages over 18 community events per year
- Manages Dothan Downtown Main Street Program in conjunction with Main Street Alabama

Executive Director
A native Cajun from South Louisiana, Jamie brings that same spunk and zest for life to downtown Dothan. As a mom of three she’s invested in creating quality of life, growing businesses and supporting a wealth of experiences for all families in the Wiregrass.
